So I haven't written a blog in a few days because my spell check is still broken so I have to Google search all my misspelled works. It's very tetious. Anyways today's topic is...
How to Have Gorgegous Hair:
Today I'm going to give tips on having beautiful, healthy, shiny, soft hair. A few monthes ago I had the dryest most damaged hair in the whooole world. I'm not kidding you. Once my makeup artist told me that I had the most damaged hair she has ever seen, and she's been doing hair & makeup forever. So that propted me to make a change right away. I would wash, blow dry and straighten my hair Everyday. I didn't know how to stop. If I don't starighten my hair its half straight and half wavey, so I had to straighen it. My hair wouldn't grow past my shoulders because it was so dead it would just break off. When I decided I couldn't stand my dry hair anymore I stopped killing it with heating products and did a bunch of research to find what would restore my hair. And here's what I found Really works.
K-PAK- A few people told me that if I wanted to restore my damaged hair to get K-PAK by Joico. They sell it at most Beauty Supply stores, I get mine at Trade Secrets. It's a bit pricey about $20 for shampoo and conditioner, each. But you can usually get it on sale. Anyways, before that I tried a ton of different Shampoos and conditions. I tried everything from Aveda, Bedhead and John Freida, salon shampoos, drugstore conditioners, everything and anything. Nothing really worked that great until I tried K-PAK. This stuff smells amazing too. You only need a small amount of the shampoo because it lathers up really well. Instantly after using it I could see and feel a very noticable difference and I've been buying it ever since.
Olive Oil/Coconut Oil: Forget those hot oil treatments you get at the drugstore, Olive oil works WAY better. And you can get a big bottle of it for the same price as those little Hot Oil treatments. This stuff has completely changed my hair. Pour some Olive Oil in your hands and rub it through your hair.Just on the bottom half of your hair. You don't want it on your roots. Leave it in for at least 15 mins or you can sleep with it in your hair. When you wash it out your hair will be sooooo soft. It really is the best thing for dry hair. Coconut oil works really good too. It's usually sold in a solid form but if you scoop some out it will melt in your hands in seconds. It's not as greesy as Olive Oil so you don't have to worry about it getting all over your pillow case if you sleep with it in.
Removing Build Up: You get build up in your hair from everyday styling products and the pollution in the air. You need to remove this build up in order for your hair to look shiney and soft. The best way to do this is to rotate shampoo and conditioners. So buy 2 different kinds and use one kind one time, and the other one the next time. I'm really not sure why this works but it does. You can also remove build up by adding a tablespoon of baking soda with your hair conditioner. This will make your hair instantly shiny.
Shiny Hair Mixture: To get beautiful shiny hair mix one part vinegar with 4 parts carbonated water and pour onto dry hair. When your hair is dry it absorbs anything you put in it much better then if it's wet. Leave this in for 15mins and then rinse out.
Another way to get shiny hair, while your washing your hair mix a couple tablespoons of honey into your shampoo. The honey will trap moisture in your hair, leaving your hair beautiful.
Volume: You never want to use too much hair spray. In addition to making you look like you just stepped out of 1962, too much hair spray can weigh down your hair, leaving it flat. Here's how to give your hair a bit of volume. When you're blow drying your hair and your almost finished, spray hairspray onto your brush and run it through your hair from root to tip. This holds volume and shine.
For lots of Volume roll your hair in Velcro rollers (you can get them at Shoppers). Use the smallest rollers for the top of your head and the bigger ones for the side. Leave them in while you shower. The heat from the shower will cause hair to shape to the rollers. Blow dry for a minute after to really set it. And Vola, volumous hair. This really works. I have pretty flat hair and though, I don't have time to do this everyday I always do this when I'm going out.
Oily Hair: So your hair is pretty greesy looking but you don't have time to wash it. What do you do? You take a bit of baby powder rub it on your hands and run it through the roots of your hair. It will absorb the oils right away. And it rubs into your hair so it doesn't look white, unless you use way too much. Trust me this works, this is how I am able to go a day without washing my hair. I have oily hair, if I don't wash it everyday it looks greesy but if I wash it everyday it gets dry and breaks. So I put a bit of baby powder in it and it looks freshly washed. However I hate the smell of baby powder so I spray a bit of my favourite perfum onto my brush and run it though my hair. Never spray perfum directly onto your hair because the alcohol in it will dry your hair. Anyways this makes my hair smell great.
Avocado hair mask: I've read many celebs mash up an avacodo (you can find one at any grocery store) and put it in their hair. Super Model Janice Dickinson swears by this. Avocados are rich in vitamins, essential fatty acids and minerals that will help restore luster to your hair. I tried it and I didn't really love it. It made my hair pretty soft but nothing really amazing. You can try it if you want, it might work wonders, who knows. Just mash up the inside of an avocado, leave it in your hair for at least 15 minutes and rinse out. When it's in your hair it will harden and your hair will feel like it has a ton of gel in it. But it rinses out really easy.
Vitamins: Take a capsol of borage oil, evening primrose oil, flaxseed oil, or fish oil. Any one of those 4. All are rich in omega-3 fatty acids like gamma-linolenic acid, great for keeping hair (and nails) moisturized. I just recently started taking fish oil pills so it will take a couple months to notice a difference but I'll keep you posted. Supposively it works really well.
