Beauty Tip Tuesday

Food For Your Face

Basically any fruit or vegetable you eat, you can put on your face to give your face vitamins and antioxidants. There's of course some that are better then others. I'm not going to list them all today I'm just going to talk about my 3 absolute favourite.

Plain Yogurt:
I've had problem skin for a long time. I'm 25 and I still get pimples. WTF... I mean I don't have acne or anything but I do get a few ugly pimples sometimes. I've tried EVERTHING to try and have perfect clear, even skin. Everything from Drugstore brands like Clean and Clear, Neutrogena, Olay.. The list is endless, to more expensive brands of skin care like Proactive and whatever I could find at Sephora. None of these really gave me the nice even complexion I wanted. Well I read that Alot of Models use Yogurt to wash their face or as a mask...Yeah right like $2.00 Yogurt is really going to work I thought. Well I picked some up at the Organic food store and I've been in love with it ever since. You don't have to buy organic, but a BIG tub of it at Goodness Me is only $2.00.
My face is too oily to use it just as a face wash but after I wash my face with my $1.60 bar of soap from Goodness Me, I slather on some Yogurt, rub it all over my face really good. Let it sit for a minute then rinse it off. I can't even begin to tell you what a difference it's made on my skin. No more pimples, and it's evened out my complexion. And for $2.00!! Well, plus my amazing bar of $1.60 Organic soap so, actually for $3.60!
Yogurt works by killing the bacteria on your face, and it's bacteria that causes pimples. So the next time your at the grocery store pick up some Plain Non-Fat Yogurt (That way you can eat it too) because trust me it works!
Sugar:
Forget about expensive exfoliating products. I've tried them all and Plain sugar works just as good, if not better at scrubbing off those dead skin cells. You can put a bit in your face wash too, instead of spending big bucks on expensive face exfoliates. I like to get a little bowl, mix sugar with abit of Olive Oil or Coconut Oil and bring that into the shower with me. Nothing makes my skin more soft and glowing. You can even add a bit of honey to that mix too.
It's sooooo important to exfoliate your skin a couple times a week. It removes dead skin cells so new ones can form and revitalizes your skin. But don't do it too much, acouple days a week is enough. Even once a week is fine. Exfoliating is harsh on your skin and too much is not good.
So the next time your about to shower bring a bowl of sugar with you and try it out. You'll probably find you'll never have to purchase an exfoliate from the store ever again.
Lemons:
Lemons work similar to Yogurt. It works by killing the bacteria on your skin. And I'm not talking about Lemon Juice that comes in a jar, I mean a real Lemon. Adding a few drops to your face wash will kill the bacteria on your face preventing any breakouts from happening.
Also, if you want to get rid of a pimple but don't want to put on that yucky white pimple cream that doesn't even work half the time and drys out your skin, stick your finger or a q-tip in the lemon and put that right on the pimple. If your using your finger make sure your hands are clean. Do that before going to bed and by morning your face should be clear. It works for me.

Just a tip. Keep your Sugar Scrub away from your dog. Dogs are afraid of Sugar. LOL.
Don't believe me? Watch this video that has nothing to do with beauty tips but it's soooo funny!
