Beauty Tip Tuesday

Today is the first of many beauty tip Tuesdays. I am full of beauty tips because I'm addicted to magazines, which always have good tips, and have read quite a few books on todays topic. My favourite is 'The Black Book of Hollywood Beauty Secrets' by Kym Douglas and Cindy Pearlman. That book has the best info on inexpensive ways to have beautiful skin, hair, makeup. And they got all their info from Celebrities so you know its good advice.

Anyways, todays beauty tip is one of my favourites. It's something that is cheap and I absolutely can't live without it...Well I could, but I wouldn't want to. It's versatile and last a reeeally long time. Want to know what it is??

Its.....

Thats right my friends. The oldest trick in the book. I first learned about this amazing product while watching Tyra Banks's talk show where they were talking about her favourite beauty secrets and what products she uses. She said Vaseline was her favourite moisterizer. I was skeptical. But while I was at Shoppers one day I thought I'd pick some up. It's less then $5.00 so I thought even if it doesnt work I haven't wasted much. Let me tell you, it's worth the $5.00. I'm a firm believer in the saying "You get what you pay for" I thought if it's cheap it probably doesn't really work. This is not so, with most beauty products. Except makeup. Cheap makeup is gross.

I use to buy expensive makeup remover and went through it like crazy. Now I don't buy makeup remover anymore. Vaseline works Waaay better then the branded makeup removers. Just smear some on a Kleenex and whip it across your eyes to remove your eye makeup. There's no stinging like with soap, and it doesn't clog your pores. And a container of Vaseline last me months. Also, it's the best moisturizer ever. I put it on my hands to protect them from this brutal winter weather. It's important to moisturize your hands or they will get wrinkly when your older.

I swear by putting vaseline under your eyes before you go to bed. Your eye area is where you get wrinkles first. Vaseline is such an amazing moisturizer it will prevent that. It works even better if you dab some under eye cream or face moisturizer under your eyes first. Let it dry for a minute. Then dab on some Vaseline over top. This will create a barrier to seal in the moisturizer.
Lastly I put Vaseline on my lips like chapstick. If you just put a bit it's not too shiny, and it makes your lips nice and smooth. I do that before bed and also a couple times a day. Especially on days like this when the weather is so brutal. It's really long lasting and prevents you from getting chapped lips.
